The City of Finlayson is accepting applications from residents interested in an appointment to fill the remaining terms of two vacant City Council positions. The terms will expire on December 31, 2026, and December 31, 2028, respectively.
The City Council may appoint any individual who is eligible to hold office as a City Council member. To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a resident of the City of Finlayson
- Be at least 21 years old
Please note: The Council is not obligated to appoint any candidate who has previously been defeated in an election for the office. (MN Const. Article VII, Subd. 6)
Application Process
Letters of interest will be reviewed, and the City Council will appoint qualified candidates at the regular council meeting on February 10, 2025.
